TV/DVD Combo: The Toshiba 19LV505 is a 19" widescreen LCD TV with a built-in side-mounted DVD slot. In addition to DVD, you can add other sources using the composite, S-Video, component video, and HDMI inputs. There is also a PC input for connecting your computer.
HDTV Tuner: The TV has built-in over-the-air HDTV (ATSC) and Digital Cable (QAM) tuners, so you don't need a separate set-top box to receive and decode over-the-air HDTV/SDTV or unencrypted Digital Cable signals.
Native Resolution: The 19LV505 has a display resolution of 1440 x 900. The HDMI and component video inputs will accept 1080i, 720p, 480p, and 480i signals, and all inputs are displayed at 1440 x 900.
TV Screen Size: You have the following screen sizes to choose from - 4:3 Letter Box, 4:3 Pan & Scan, and 16:9 Wide.
Picture Size: You can choose one of the following picture sizes:
Natural: image is displayed close to its originally formatted proportion, with black bars along the sides or top and bottom if the signal has an aspect ratio different than the TV
Theater Wide 1: a 4:3 picture is non-uniformly enlarged; the center of the picture remains close to its original aspect, but the left and right edges are stretched wider to fill the screen
Theater Wide 2: for letterbox programs, the entire picture is uniformly enlarged, the top and bottom edges of the picture may be hidden
Theater Wide 3: for letterbox programs with subtitles, the picture is non-uniformly enlarged; stretched wider to fill the width of the screen and stretched slightly taller
Full: this picture fills the screen, if a 4:3 program is sensed it's stretched wider to fill the screen, but not taller
Auto Aspect: When the auto aspect feature is turned on and the TV receives a 480i signal, the picture size is automatically selected; a 4:3 signal is set to Natural, a 16:9 signal is set to Full, a 4:3 letterbox signal is set to Theater Wide 2. If the signal's aspect is not defined, the Picture Size defaults to the last manually chosen setting.
Picture Modes: You can select one of the following picture modes:
Sports: bright and dynamic picture
Standard: standard picture setting
Movie: movie-like picture setting
Memory: allows you to adjust and store contrast, brightness, color, tint, and sharpness
Color Temperature: The color temperature has three settings; Cool (bluish), Standard (neutral), and Warm (reddish).
Back Lighting: In a bright room is may be necessary to adjust the screen brightness using the Back Lighting feature to improve the picture quality.
Film Mode: A smoother motion may be obtained by activating the television's Film Mode feature when you are viewing a DVD movie.
Game Mode: The Game Mode adjusts the screen to a suitable brightness for your eyes.
